Undelivered Air Canada 787 heading to Iqaluit, Canada, Why?

So this morning, a lot of 787 watcher, including myself observed that Boeing is sending a 787 that is scheduled to be delivered to Air Canada later this month to Iqaluit, Canada.  I'm at a loss to explain why though I'm going to speculate.

Iqaluit has an airport that used for extreme cold weather testing of aircraft.  Boeing has done cold weather testing on the 787 so this may be additional testing of a fully kitted out Air Canada 787 being done for the airline.  The aircraft ZA616 (LN 254, C-GHQQ) was flown to Portland, Or. for painting and then to Boeing Field which is unusual except Boeing's Test Flight group is headquartered there.  It is possible that the test flight crews were fitting out the aircraft with test flight equipment and the engineers were running tests prior to flying to Canada.  Again this is speculation on my part but it's the best possible explanation.

could it have anything to do with the icing problem on engines in November 2013 (GEnx engines) if it has not been fixed already

Iqaluit is often used for cold-saok testing. Could actually be test of vendor supplied equipment such as galley or entertainment system

PS. It is currently 20 below zero.

Uresh, A few small typos in your "Current 787 Operator" table. LOT should be 6, not 7, and Norwegian should be 6, not zero.

Oops, thanks!

First apologies for multi deleted posts. The reason this a/c is undergoing cold weather testing is simple. Transport Canada requires separate cold weather testing than the FAA performed testing during certification. Nothing new, nothing up TC just having its own look at the aircraft.

What is interesting is that Air Canada already has six 787 flying. Why do cold testing now. Canada isn't the only cold place in the world!

Possibly because it's the first winter for the lone carrier operating that aircraft in the country?

Just a guess.

OK. Perhaps the carrier and/or B wanted an early delivery for the benefit of all.

I think I'd be rather more interested in the fact that the Everett production rate is increasing...substantially.

They shipped 4 planes in excess of projection last year. I believe they shipped 12 in December, contributing to the exceeding of annual projection. (2014 projected run rate was at 10 a month.) Something's happening.
