Alas, no Emirates order and this is an airline that likes to make a big splash at the huge industry events like Farnborough and Paris. Boeing did finalize the 787-9 order with Hawaiian thus stealing away an Airbus customer that had ordered the A350 then the A330-800NEO. Boeing also got LoIs from two customers for 15 787-9 though the split wasn't revealed.
Airbus scored a large order for the A330NEO from Air Asia X. Boeing was trying to steal this order away from Airbus but ultimately lost out to Airbus since Air Asia is a huge Airbus customer.
Below is the final tally of orders.

Farnborough Air Show 2018 - Day 3
Overall a pretty good day for Boeing's 737 MAX as it captured a huge 100 plane order from VietJet as well as from 4 unidentified customers but Airbus did get more widebody orders in the form of the A330NEO.
Tomorow is the last day so I'm still waiting for Emirates to finalize their order.
Hello? Anyone from Emirates listening out there?
ATR and Bombardier finally got on the board with a few orders but overall this has been the show for the two majors plus Embraer.

Paris Air Show 2017 - Day 1
The 1st day of the 2017 Paris Air Show is in the books and Boeing did well. For starters they got a nice order of 30 firm 787-9s from AerCap making them the largest owner of 787 when all the aircraft are delivered at 122 (this includes sale-leaseback transactions). Boeing also got an MoU from CDB Aviation Lease Finance for 8 787-9s. The big story was narrowbody orders with Boeing announcing the launch of the largest member of the 737 MAX series, the 737 MAX 10 which would seat up to 230 passengers and a range (with out auxiliary fuel tanks) of up to 5,000 miles. Boeing expects about 240 orders from 10+ customers during the air show. Many of these orders are conversions of existing 737 MAX orders to the larger model.
Airbus picked up a large order from GECAS for 100 A320neos (A320 and A321). Boeing accounted for the only widebody order to come on day 1 of the airshow but I expect that Airbus will pick up an order for the A350 before the end of the show. The airshow is really going to be a battle of the narrowbodies this year.
Lastly, ZC002 flew to Victorville to continue flight testing there. Boeing said that they have completed about 30% of the 787-10 flight test program. If so then I wonder if Boeing can have the aircraft certified by the end of the year?

Paris Air Show 2015 - Day 1
With day 1 of the 2015 Paris Air Show in the bag, there were a few surprises but on the whole a typical first day at the bi-annual air show. Airbus, which usually saves up order announcements for the big summer air shows (Farnborough or Paris) went out to quick lead.
The surprise was Garuda Indonesia signing LoIs for 30 787-9s along with the 737Max and A350. No one saw that one coming and it's nice to see the 787 picking up another major customer when this order is finalized. Despite the A350 order from Garuda, the airlines widebody fleet is mostly the A330 with a few 777-300ERs.
Another surprise...Qatar's firm order for 10 x 777X. Saj Ahmad of Strategic Aero Research says that this is not the 777X order that Boeing had booked last week along with the 15 x 787 cancellations. In fact he confirmed my suspicion that Etihad is the source of the 777X order as well as the 15 787 cancellations (though the order is attributable to an unknown customer, it is Etihad's). Etihad may announce the 777X order at Paris but it currently unknown if they will.
