Weather likely to slow down 787 deliveries over next few days

The Everett weather may be looking to put a hold on deliveries for the next few days and may ground aircraft  all together.  The Seattle area is expecting rain....a lot of it as Mt Ranier is forecasted to have 10 FEET of snow but the lower elevations, while not getting that much, will probably be clobbered as well with large amounts of rain.  Boeing is still stuck at 35 deliveries in total to 8 customers.  There has been some movements of assembled aircraft with ZA504 (LN 15) moving to the Runaway storage area and ZA150 (LN 17) moving to the EMC.  In a surprise move, ZA381 (LN 36, B-2726) was moved to the EMC, ostensibly for change incorporation.  This MAY indicate some movement to deliver 787s to the Chinese (China Southern and Hainan) but it's too early to tell.  This aircraft could easily go back to the temporary parking/storage that it had previously occupied. ZA175 (LN 20) finally made it inside the EMC to continue change incorporation and finally ZA287 (LN 52, N26903) was moved to the paint hangar and should be out soon. Interestingly ZA285 (LN 45, N29601) is still out on the flightline even though it was pulled out of the EMC earlier.

With the Thanksgiving holidays coming up along with the rainy weather in the Pacific Northwest, don't expect too much happening out of Everett this week.  There is supposed to be a line move early next week.  Lastly, there is a rumor that Air India will be able to pay for another 787 this week and fly it away from Charleston but so far nothing has happened.

Could you describe the EMC positions a little Uresh? I'm guessing bays A-B-C-D are inside where the heavy work is done, but sometimes (like currently) you list bay AW. What is that, and why is there no bay C occupant currently?

And the positions are outside? What work do they accomplish there?

Thanks in advance.

Blaming the "three year blues" on Boeing, enables those airlines to play Boeing as a benefit package for an airlines own reason to delay delivery. That trump card is going to drop out of the deck as more commercial aircraft flow to new customers. The new airline carriers for the 787 threaten to be in every market while invading those Airlines turf who play Boeing.

1. India Airlines is on life support and needs a sugar daddy to boot the government out of the way.

2. Qatar has the money ,it can leverage what they want.

3.China wants to show who is in control late in the game.

All have had 3+ years to work out these problems, but enjoy making Boeing stay in the stalks until further notice.

Uresh, I am a bit confused about the FAL positions. I though that the surge line in 40-24 only had 3 positions, sharing position 4 in 40-26, but you show LN84 in Position 4 in 40-24. Are they just using this location for temp storage while 40-26 Position 4 is moved out?
Thanks

Uresh,

I think you ment "rainy weather" in the first line of the second paragraph.

With the Thanksgiving holidays coming up along with the ainy weather in the Pacific Northwest

As always keep up the good work and no need to approve the comment.

Don’t be so hard on the wx, Boeing was flying yesterday, just not 787’s. The wx isn’t holding deliveries back, it’s the airplanes and I don’t expect any wx related delays this week. As for this holiday weekend, if there are airplanes to fly they will be flown. They’ll shutdown for “turkey” on Thursday, but as far as the rest of the weekend is concerned it will be business as usual for flight ops--same over the Xmas break.

Is that LN57 flying to VCV? Does that mean it is delivered?

Looks like 2 B-1's (UAL & QTR) and 3 deliveries(UAL, QTR & ETH)today--holiday rush.

a slightly troublesome detail in all these deliveries is that this month, there have and probably will be 0 deliveries from the "fresh batch" 787's, post ln 66 group. with boeing ramping up to 5 a month out of FAL, they should be delivering 4-5 fresh ones as well (minus hangups like china of course).
