Guy Norris: Possible snag in Dreamliner 1 test

Guy Norris is reporting that there may be a possible snag for the 787 testing. Guy said that the landing gear swing tests went well however there was an unexpected electrical systems problem. Boeing was going to perform a special electrical systems test to troubleshoot the problem but that test has been put on hold indefinitely.

Guy does not know if this will effect the rest of the test program or the date for first flight.

Stay tuned.

Read Guy's posting here.

Flightblogger has picked up the story though nothing new yet to report. Read Jon's posting here.

Someone on Yahoo reports that Plane has been rolled out to flightline...fact or fantasy?

I haven't heard anything as of yet.

Well, it clearly is not out on the flightline as previously thought. I think Boeing just wants to embarass the bloggers...

Well if that's their motivation, to embarass the bloggers using their multi billion dollar program, then they could pay me a few million and I'll go away!! I think they're a lot smarter than that. They want to get through testing as expeditiously and safely as they can and go fly.

Uresh,
I do not disagree with your point.

It is disappointing that details are not available to you or your sources and a coincidence that there will be a media day later in the week...a perfect opportunity to move on to the flightline.

This whole program and the Company has been frustrating to many of us so this is just another one to add to the list

I doubt Boeing is going to hurry anything or anyone for our sake..

That being said, they are being very cautious about what details get out, the picture of of the 787 on Jon's blog (a series of shots through the door stitched together) has been removed, as well as the one with the anti-collision lights on. And then there's that (very juvenile) whine from Randy, something which really puts down Boeing's image in my opinion...
