Farnborough Air Show 2018 - Day 4

Alas, no Emirates order and this is an airline that likes to make a big splash at the huge industry events like Farnborough and Paris.  Boeing did finalize the 787-9 order with Hawaiian thus stealing away an Airbus customer that had ordered the A350 then the A330-800NEO.  Boeing also got LoIs from two customers for 15 787-9 though the split wasn't revealed.

Airbus scored a large order for the A330NEO from Air Asia X.  Boeing was trying to steal this order away from Airbus but ultimately lost out to Airbus since Air Asia is a huge Airbus customer.

You forgot the Volga/Dniper 777 order.

Better to say the Farnborough 2018 results are Boeing 673 and Airbus 431 (as per their website)

Uresh,

Did you get my comments:

1) you omitted the LoI for 29 777's for Volga-Dnepr.
2) Boeing 673 versus Airbus 431 was the final tally.

You do a great job incidentally.

Gotta admit, I did not see Boeing winning the new orders war at a European air show, especially given all the feathers Trump has been ruffling with his trade wars.

Surprising.

673 Boeing OC's or clarified as orders and commitments. Once commitments are signed as firm, Boeing approaches a 1,000 order during 2018 with six months to get it done for exceeding 1,000 orders. It's a good bet Boeing will get it done but it is difficult to see if Airbus can match Boeing orders this year. Maybe Boeing has found its marketing stride finally, after the last ten years of Airbus nonsense.

Uresh, it may be my imagination, but it seems that test flight activity at both Everett and Charleston have slowed down lately. Do you have any insight about this?
